The Portage Chalet is located 10 minutes from Huntsville on beautiful Peninsula lake. The chalet is located on the same 5 acre property as the historic Portage Inn ( built in 1889 now a bed & breakfast)

This 4 bedroom cottage located on Peninsula lake accommodates up to 13 people. The property and area is a natural playground with all kinds of room for recreational activities no matter what season.

The chalet offers excellent accommodation for snowmobilers and is conveniently located on trails 54 & 77 with meals available at the Portage Inn. This winter guided snowmobile tours and Ice fishing huts will be available on Peninsula lake. Only minutes from Hidden Valley Skiing (downhill) and snowboarding or bring your cross-country skis or snowshoes and explore the area, or do some tobogganing, tubing, ice skating, dog sledding and sleigh rides.

In the summer there are open fields for frisbee or baseball and there is a sand volleyball court. There are also bicycles available for exploring the area. There is a great child friendly sandy beach that is terrific for swimming with excellent boating on Peninsula lake with nearby boat launches and great boating on Peninsula lake with 3 Canoes, a Kayak, a Sunfish Sailboat available at no extra charge.

Nearby is a 1 minute drive to South Portage public boat ramp to Lake of Bays and South Portage Marina or 10 minute drive to Peninsula Lake boat ramp. 10 minutes from Deerhurst Resort and other golf courses and and 10 minutes from downtown Huntsville You can get to Algonquin Park or Arrowhead Parks in 25 minutes.
